We have set sail for the Queen Elizabeth Islands, on our journey through the Northwest Passage. Here above the Arctic Circle, the summers are short, bright affairs, and the only season that welcomes travel through arctic waters. Winter is long and forbidding, with plummeting temperatures and a single dark night that lasts til spring. The landscape is home to herds of caribou and muskox, and the fierce polar predators who prey on them. Below the sea, bowhead whales sing their ancient song. Few people are bold enough to make this land their home, but for the duration of your iSurv1vor journey, it will be yours. One does not survive in these elements without an open mind, a bold heart, and an inner fire that burns beyond the ice. The native Inuit people build their lives from the skins and bones of the creatures they hunt. You too will need to make prey of those around you, in order to further your life in the game. This thirty-first season of iSurv1vor begins in Baffin Bay, sailing west from the Atlantic Ocean. On board are twenty-one iSurv1vor veterans who are back to make their mark on the series. They come from different walks of life, but when it comes to the game they each have one thing in common - they've been given a Second Chance. Divided into three competing crews each sailing their own ship; the Erebus, and her sister ship, the Terror. And, it wouldn't be iSurv1vor without elevating history just a little bit. With that being said we introduce the third, new ship, the Glory. Three crews voyaging on three different ships, however, no ship can set sail without one who Captain's.

These three-time players are your new leaders (Crew Captains). They are legendary players of seasons past who have earned their spot back into the game, but this time like never before! Between them they share expert knowledge of iSurv1vor, the challenges, the day-to-day life, and more importantly they're valuable resources as each of you claw your way through Second Chances. These are your captains! This expedition will encompass a variety of professions and ranks, each carrying unique responsibilities which are integral to the successful operation of your vessels. The first detailed rank of the game is of course the Captain, and before we set sail we need to establish the hierarchy of each crew. Based on your previous placements in the series, starting roles have been delved out. Let's take a look-see...

The Captain will be responsible for organizing everyone's strengths and schedules. The Captain will determine all roles when it comes to Immunity Challenges and participate alongside their crew. The Captain is in charge of selecting crew members to attend Expeditions during the game. The Captain will also be responsible for the distribution of bounty amongst the tribe after results have been announced, whether it be the Purser's Treasure or Standard Pay. If a tie occurs at Tribal Council your ship Captain will break it.
The Quartermaster is the first mate to the Captain and is the second highest paid rank. The Captain and his Quartermaster will be the main point of contact between each crew and Production. If there is a tie during an Immunity Challenge the Quartermasters will face off in a duel for the win. The Quartermaster will always receive an extra share of the bounty, of course, second to the Captain. The quartermaster has no daily ship duties to upkeep.
The Surgeon is in charge of the health and well-being of the ship. Each day in your tribe camp the Surgeon must select two individuals to diagnose; one with a positive diagnosis and one with a negative. The crew member selected for the positive diagnosis will receive 2 gold coins. The crew member selected for the negative diagnosis will receive -2 gold coins. If the Surgeon fails to do his job on any given day, -4 gold value will be deducted from his purse. (further details located in your tribe camp)
The Navigator is in charge of guiding their ship safely through the Arctic. In order for your ship to stay on route the Navigator must post the provided compass image every time a Ship Mail is posted. Once this is done your crew will continue sailing the seas safely throughout the episode. If the Navigator fails to guide your crew by not posting the provided compass and steers your ship in the wrong direction, your ship will start the competition off with a disadvantage. To avoid sailing astray the Navigator must accomplish this task before the Immunity Challenge Instructions go live. (further details located in your tribe camp)
The Carpenter responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ship. After each battle (Immunity Challenge) the Carpenter must renew the ship's yard, mast, and sails. To do this the Carpenter must photo capture themselves using a repair tool. (Example; holding a hammer whilst about to impale a nail, using a screwdriver to steady an object, or even holding a power tool.) Failure to maintain and upkeep the health of your ship will result in The Captain and his/her Quartermaster losing 5 gold coins. (further details located in your tribe camp)
The Gunner in charge of all the ships guns and ammunition. They are responsible for the upkeep and repair to ensure safe and effective use during battle. To keep the best handle on your ships artillery, before each Immunity the Gunner's will face-off in what is called a Cannon Quest. The winner of this competition will replenish their artillery and +5 gold coins awarded to every current shipmate. The two losing Gunner's will bring back no extra artillery and -5 gold coins will be deducted from them as well as their Captain, Quartermaster, and crew. (further details located in your tribe camp)
The Rigger is the sailor assigned to the daily functions of the ship, including furling the sails and running supplies to other crew members from below deck. The Rigger must perform three duties daily, at least two hours apart. First is raising the sail, second is lowering the sail, third is dropping the anchor. In order to perform these duties correctly the Rigger must post the provided Rigger images (which can be found in your Care Package in your Journal). Each of these three duties must be accomplished every single day in the game, or 2 gold coins will be deducted for every day there is a discrepancy. (further details located in your tribe camp)
The Swab is the lowest ranking member of the crew. The Swab's main duty is to mop the deck everyday, at least three times per day, at least three hours apart from each other. Failure to abide by this standard will result in the Captain dividing your episode gold coins going amongst the crew. (further details located in your tribe camp)
If at any point in the game you find yourself tapped out of coin you will be forced to walk the plank, which will result in your removal from the game. Each episode your ship ranking & roles will be based upon your gold values earned (these are cumulative), except the Captain. In order to claim the role of Captain, overthrowing power in the form of a mutiny must occur. More on that later.
The journey is about to begin. Ready your sails. Floaters grab a life vest.
THIS IS YOUR SECOND CHANCE!
39 days 24 people 1 iSurv1vor!
